I completed my undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in College Station (Yes, I'm an Aggie!), double majoring in Speech Communication and Psychology. I also have my Master's of Science in Counselor Education from the University of North Texas. I completed my internship in San Diego, California and returned to Texas for my doctoral program. I received my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station.
With over 10 years of experience, I have worked with adolescents, adults and couples in a variety of settings. In addition to private practice, I have worked with adolescents in a residential treatment center and school setting. I have encountered adults and couples within an agency setting, on psychiatric units, and at university counseling centers.
I specialize in relationships and couples counseling. In addition to training and clinical experience, I have also conducted extensive research on marital satisfaction, communication patterns and interpersonal dynamics.
I am trained as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) and a parenting coordinator within the collaborative law divorce process. As an MHP, I work with attorneys and financial professionals to help couples achieve a collaborative divorce.
In addition to private practice, I am also an adjunct faculty member in the master's of counseling programs at St. Edward's and Texas State Universities.
